Valverde accepts Barcelona will miss Messi

A fractured arm has ruled Lionel Messi out of action for three weeks and Ernesto Valverde accepted Barcelona will miss their captain. Messi has been ruled out for three weeks after sustaining a fractured arm in a heavy fall during Saturday’s 4-2 LaLiga win at home to Sevilla. The Argentina attacker will therefore be unavailable to face Inter in the Champions League on Wednesday, as well as missing next weekend’s Clasico. Barca have not won a Clasico without Messi since he made his debut for the club in 2004 and they failed to beat Athletic Bilbao when he was rested last month.Valverde is under no illusions about the challenges ahead without his talisman but suggested Messi’s absence may allow other players to step up.”It is clear that it is a sensitive low,” Valverde told reporters.”In the end, it is about who he is and we know what he gives us. We all know what the opponent thinks when they play Leo.”But we have to know that he will not be available and we have to face it. We will prepare for it but of course we are going to notice the loss of Messi.”There have been games that Leo has not played in. He is fundamental and he marks a lot of the team’s game, but we will try to keep our idea and take a step forward.”We will miss him, win or lose, but we want to miss him winning.”

Barca, who moved top of the table after recording their first LaLiga win for over a month, led 2-0 against Sevilla when Messi was replaced, the captain having set up Philippe Coutinho for a second-minute opener before doubling the lead himself. But Barca were grateful to goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen for a pair of sensational double saves, while Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic struck in the second half to ensure a Clement Lenglet own goal and Luis Muriel’s strike were mere consolations. “It was a bit difficult for us to close the game,” Valverde added. “It was a game against a good team, which has demanded a lot, marked by Messi’s injury. “And now we are first, which is no nonsense, seeing how close the league is.”I know there are times when the strikers are more or less successful, but in the end the work of Luis Suarez is always there.”

This article is about a football team (Barcelona) in Spain. The player the article is based on is my favourite player and I have watched him play in person in the stadium therefore this article relates to me and I have a personal understanding and relation to the injury that Lionel Messi has sustained.

If you are into football I would recommend this article because it is about a well known player and if you like football then you basically know this player it is almost a guarantee. He is the best player in the world and when watching him it is like watching a magician.

Personally I relate to this article because I have sustained the same injury which kept me out of football for weeks at an important time of the season. I have watched Lionel Messi play live which was not long before he injured himself. From experience of me being injured I understand what Messi is going through because it really sucks getting injured at an important time of the season.

This teaches me that anything can happen to anyone because Messi was playing really well for his team before the injury and this is a huge set back but I believe that he will come back from injury stronger than what he was before.

In conclusion I believe that this injury is a huge set back for Lionel Messi  and it was the same when I injured myself but I believe he is an amazing player and will come back fighting.
