Scars to Your Beautiful
She just wants to be beautiful
She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits
She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don’t see the light that’s shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away
‘Cause cover girls don’t cry after their face is made
But there’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark
You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
Oh-oh, oh-oh
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
She has dreams to be an envy, so she’s starving
You know, covergirls eat nothing
She says beauty is pain and there’s beauty in everything
What’s a little bit of hunger?
I could go a little while longer, she fades away
She don’t see her perfect, she don’t understand she’s worth it
Or that beauty goes deeper than the surface
Oh, oh
So to all the girls that’s hurting
Let me be your mirror, help you see a little bit clearer
The light that shines within
There’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark
You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
Oh-oh, oh-oh
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
No better you than the you that you are (no better you than the you that you are)
No better life than the life we’re living (no better life than the life we’re living)
No better time for your shine, you’re a star (no better time for your shine, you’re a star)
Oh, you’re beautiful, oh, you’re beautiful
And there’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark
You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
Oh-oh, oh-oh
And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful
This song is about a singer that is showing to the world that no matter what you are beautiful just the way you are. She shares a very powerful message in this song. Alessia Cara did a live performance of this song and it inspired me a lot. The words in the song already have a strong meaning behind them but she made the song even more powerful coming on stage dresses up and with makeup on and. But little that was known that while she was performing this song she would take her makeup off her dress off and she would let her hair down so everything was natural and she would carry the song like this.
I recommend this song because it has a deep meaning to it and a very powerful message. I believe that This song has a very deep meaning behind it. Not only is the song good to listen to the lyrics behind the catchiness and instruments portray a very strong message valuable to all and I believe that is very important.
Personally I can relate to this song as at one stage I noticed people talking about people pointing out peoples flaws and saying they should change it and when it spreads and the person finds out about this it makes them feel self conscious about this and makes them want to change this. What they don’t understand is that our flaws make us who we are and it does not matter what others think, we should only improve what we want and not base it off what people say. We should learn to do things that make us happy not something others just want us to change and we feel pressured into that. A quote that relates to myself and the song is “Do not change yourself to please others, change yourself to please yourself. This quote really has a deep meaning to it and relates to the song. It resembles the line “You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart No scars to your beautiful, we’re stars and we’re beautiful”. This shows the meaning of how important it is to believe you are beautiful just the way you are.
This song teaches me how judgemental people really can be and how hard people try to hide the pain that they are going through but really they should feel comfortable to express what they are feeling. this song proves how judgemental our society really is and why there are so many people that are not reaching out for help. But then this song also proves to me and teaches me that there are good people out there in the world that do want to make a difference and change the thought that people are not beautiful just the way they are and that is the message the song portrays. in the song Alessia Cara would also like to show that beauty goes deeper than the surface. People in our generation need to raise this.
In conclusion I believe this song portrays a really powerful message an I agree with what she is saying beauty does go deeper than the skin and people need to realise this.
