Exposure- Wilfred Owen

The idea to “exposure”- exposed to extreme weather conditions, is a reoccurring theme in this poem.

A reference to exposure that is included in the poem is when the writer writes “Our brains ache, in the merciless iced east winds that knife us” our brains ache refers to a brain freeze because it is so cold and like their brains have been exposed to the cold like when you have an ice cream and eat it to fast so your brain feels exposed to the cold.
